The Winter Olympics have arrived! Join us in the month of February as we explore the theology of the Olympics (the idea of winning, team, nationalism, glory, perseverance, etc.) during our Sunday morning gatherings!

U2 is back in town!
Submitted by Albert on Tue, 2009-10-13 09:00.Last time U2 was in town, I looked at a few of their songs on Sunday morning. The podcast can be found at http://www.thetapestry.ca/tappodcasts/bono_and_u2_sermon_vertigo_apr_24_2005
I haven't listened to their new album "No Line on the Horizon" too often, but will do so in prep for their concert in Vancouver on Oct 28th. I will also take a look at their new album @ the Tap on Sunday, Oct 25th.
And I need your help. So, if you've listened to their new stuff... what do you think? You like it? Any God illusions in the lyrics? Any scripture?

Advent Conspiracy
Submitted by Albert on Fri, 2008-12-05 11:49.The fall sermon series has been entitled "rEVOLution" and about how we can best live out this love revolution of Jesus. Echoing Mother Teresa, "we can do not great things, only small things with great love. It is not how much you do, but how much love you put into doing it."
We've talked about some of these small things, and a few sundays ago, I alluded to the small things we can do differently this year to celebrate Christmas. Following up on that, this Christmas, we are encouraging everyone at the Tap to buy a goat for someone in the Third World.

Who's listening to the podcasts?
Submitted by Albert on Fri, 2008-08-22 22:11.I don't generally like to listen to myself - but I checked the Tap podcast page and there are like 200 downloads from sermons that were preached just a few months ago. It's kinda scary. So, who is out there listening? For curiosity sake (and you can just blog it anonymously), but could you humour me and tell me where you live? How far is this going to?

Suddenly I See - God in a Song
Submitted by Albert on Wed, 2008-05-07 11:42.Pentecost Sunday is just around the corner and I’m planning to re-do (with a few changes!) a monologue that I did for Pentecost from a few years back. So the other night, I went for a walk late in the evening and began to listen to that very monologue on my ipod. As the monologue ended, the next song on my ipod happened to be KT Tunstall’s song “Suddenly I See.” And bam, it was such an unexpected God thing! Just read the lyrics!
