Bones of Jesus Found!

By now, you may have heard about a new documentary coming out in which Titanic director James Cameron and Canadian filmmaker Simcha Jacobovici claim that they have found the remains of Jesus, his wife, Mary Magdalene, and their child.

The story can be read here: http://www.cbc.ca/world/story/2007/02/26/jesus-tomb.html

Most scholars and Bible experts refute their claims.  And it's a bit far-feched for me (like some da vinci code thing).  How can they actually prove that they are Jesus' bones?  And since Jesus was resurrected, are they even bones to be found?

Which leads to a bigger question, does this supposed "discovery" make a difference to our faith?  Does this show the validity of the existence of Jesus?  Or does this discover refute Christianity?

The documentary will air on Vision TV on Mar. 6th.  I'll be watching, but it certainly isn't going make a difference to me or my faith.  What are your thoughts?

Come again?

Cameron and Jacobovic's claim that they're not trying to undermine Christianity shows they're trying to be nice but are ignorant at the same time. "Excuse me, the central event of your religion, turns out, didn't take place - but - no offense."

hmm...

This movie is out already...it's called The DaVinci Code. This reminds me of all those times the evolutionists claim they have found the missing link. People get excited at first, then everything goes quiet when it's proven that the bones were fake. Well, if documentary by James Cameron doesn't work out, maybe he can reuse his bones for his next movie: "Bones of Missing Link found in Jerusalem!"

over-reaction

speaking of this documentary about Jesus' bones and the DaVinci Code and Harry Potter and whatever...
don't you think that some Christians just way over-react and start boycotting or saying nasty things?

In a few months, no one is going to even remember this documentary. Christianity has been around for 2,000 years, I think we'll be live through a James Cameron documentary.

I think it's odd only

I think it's odd only because it's James Cameron ala Titanic and Terminator fame. It's a bit weird to have an action/science/sappy movie director/producer suddenly throw his hat into the theology ring.

i think it's too late for me....

after these astounding revelations...i'm converting to james cameronism.......

if anyone wants to follow me, i'll lead you into the gospels of ahnold and the book of dicaprio

pshhaw...

anything to get some publicity
