Korea!

I'm sure those who came to the Korean Global Banquet all had a blast!  It just made me want to have Korean more often!  Thanks for all those who cooked, sung, dressed up, and set up.

Speaking of Korea, as I mentioned on Saturday, a lot has been taking place in North Korea in the last few months.  Thankfully, just today, North Korea agreed to return to nuclear disarmament talks.

What isn't reported as much is the big hunger problem in North Korea. In the 1990s, 2 million people died in North Korea due to famine and lack of food.  Surprisingly, the US has given $1.1 billion in aid since then.  However, many countries have suspended food aid after the North's nuclear test.

The only solution is for North Korea to divert resources from developing nuclear weapons to feeding its people.

So, let's pray for peace and for aid to actually get to people.

Korea

Yes! Yes!
Thanks for the reminder to pray for Korea with all that is going on over there. But in order for me to do that, I have to say I will do it the "Canadian" style and not the "Korean" style. I know either way, the Lord will hear my prayers but .... for my benefit and concentration or lack of - I have to do it the silent way!

Korean style

oh yes, "Korean" style prayer or "praying in unison."  For those of you who don't know what it is (we tried it last night at our home group), it is praying individually out loud while in a group setting.  Thus, you have a group of people all praying and lifting their voices at the same time.

Although it can be distracting, I like it.  It reminds me that we are praying together as a community in unison for each other and for specific prayer items.
