Sunday Service becomes Service Sunday

On June 24th, the Tap is not holding a Sunday Service, but instead a Service Sunday.

We plan to worship through acts of service throughout the Lower Mainland. For instance, a group of 20 or so will be led on a prayer walk and give out sandwiches in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, while another group will do some repairs for a long-term care group home in Richmond.

Another group will be helping out with the Richmond Fruit Tree Sharing Project that connects volunteers with growing and harvesting fruit and vegetables for people in need.  In six years, the Richmond Fruit Tree Project has harvested close to 90,000 pounds of fruit and vegetables to give to those living with poverty.

Sign up on Sunday for one of these groups, or give us a shout if you have any questions or want to join!  For those who have children, we will be holding our regular Tap Kids program at church and parents are welcome to join the service at FRCRC.

As we hope to live out one of our church values – “Love in Action,” what are others ways in which we can serve the city of Richmond and the lower mainland?  What other organizations can we partner with?  What are the needs of people in Richmond?  With the purchase of the Church building in July, what ways can we best use the building for our neighbours?

ESL?

Maybe teach English as a Second Language for new immigrants? Sorry, I know it's not that original.
