Video Game Reviews: Justice League Heroes

I started getting into the DC Universe this year so I was totally excited when this game came out. Overall the game play was decent and the storyline was not too bad. The biggest disappointment of the game was the movie sequences. The graphics were beyond awful! I don't know how they got away with putting out this game with such poor animation.

The second disappointment is the limited option of choosing your characters and their alternate costumes. You can only choose your team on about 5 boards, and you can only wear the latest costume that was purchased.

If you can get past the goofy movie sequences and lack of customization, the game can be enjoyable. The best part of this game (other than being the JLA) is that there is no killing. Though there is violence, the character that you control never kills which is one of the rules of the superheroes in the DC Universe (not to say it has never happened). This is what really stood out for me since I used to read X-men where people died left and right. It's nice to find something that is entertaining without all of the killing. It brings me back to when I used to watch Saturday morning cartoons. Nobody ever died back then. Even in G.I. Joe when planes were shot down you would always see the pilot parachute out.

Would I buy this game? Probably once it's around $20. The game is easy enough to beat with a 5 day rental, but there are things that I'd still like to unlock (I'm such a nerd).

Green Lantern

I love the Green Lantern! Who's your favourite superhero?

Heroes

My top three are the Flash (both Barry Allen and Wally West), Batman and Green Lantern (Kyle Ryner).

The Flash and GL are really good characters, I mean they are REALLY good. The Flash not only fight bad guys, he actually turned some into allies and turn them into good characters! Don't see that much anymore. GL is just cool, he can make anything he wants!

And Batman...well, he's Batman. Which other superhero is only a human that can hang with Superman and Wonderwoman? Over at www.marshillchurch.org there's a podcast on Batman (around when Batman Begins came out), it's pretty interesting.
