Ways to Reduce

We all know that there's a lot of pollution out there. We're bombarded by the media everyday, my question to you is can we reduce our carbon footprint further? Energy-saving light bulbs, walk, bike, public transit, turn off the lights are many of the basics, but I'm sure there are many other ways to reduce. So I hand it off to you to add your comments on how to further reduce our carbon footprint at home, at work, and at church.

Conserve Water!

This is somewhat related. We should conserve water!

We use up our planet’s fresh water faster than it can naturally be replenished.

When we use water wisely, we save energy and reduce our footprint. We save the energy that our water supplier uses to treat and move water to us, and the energy we use to heat our water.

a sweater

This one is courtesy of my parents and enduring more than a few cold(er) winters in Toronto. Put on a sweater, and turn the heat down...it's not too cold here in the winter anyways! t

Unplug it!

Did you know that 10% of the average home's electrical bill is used by appliances that are on standby? That's what I heard on the news a few weeks ago. They suggest that you unplug things that you aren't using especially computers, monitors and even your phone chargers!

Canadian Enviro-Consciousness

Interesting findings from Angus Reid on Canadian attitudes and behaviours vis-a-vis enviro-consciousness.
