Okay, really, I don't watch that much youtube at all. But recently I've been taking some flak from people who have caught me...I mean, have seen me watch, say, some basketball highlights via the web.
I'M NOT WATCHING TELEVISION.
Or am I?
Well I don't think so. We still don't have a TV in our living room and yes, I'll watch the video here and there on the computer, but I'm not coming home and just planting myself in on the couch sometimes mind numbingly flipping through the channel. I guess that was my goal.
The other funny thing is when I'm over at people's house who know about this fast from TV thing and make a big deal about it. It's really quite considerate, but I guess I'm not holding to the fast religiously, so to speak...even though it is religious...get it?

Perhaps your fast should be altered to fasting from being a couch potato planted in front of the TV. Technically speaking, watching the computer is still watching a screen with moving pictures on it...BUT I understand where you are coming from after you have explained yourself. It's about the principle of not wasting time flipping through channels mindlessly rather than the the TV itself.
Now, about that dessert, I think the white flag has finally been raised.. Shaved ice is still considered dessert, ALTHOUGH not nearly as sugary as other Western ones! Like the TV, it's the principle of refraining from things that are too sweet..
