Seen any good movies lately?

So, I went to Rogers Video last night to see if I could find a movie for Ellen and I to watch on a Sunday night evening.  But to my dismay, there was nothing to be found.  I almost walked out empty-handed.  Is it just me, or have there been a lack of good movies out in the last year? I've been wanting to do a "Reel Sermon" at the Tap the last few months, but nothing seems to be out there.

If you've seen a good thought-provoking movie in the last few months, what was it and why?

By the way, I ended up walking out with "The Sentinel" with Keifer, Eva, and Michael Douglas.  Typical fair. I'd give it 2 kernels of popcorn out of 5.

Homelessness in Vancouver

So, as Don mentioned in service today, I went to a conference on affordable housing over the weekend.  Pretty big event with some MPs and Mayor Sam Sullivan attending.  Homelessness and lack of affordable housing is a big concern.  The stats are pretty worrisome.  Homelessness doubled in the city of Vancouver in the last 3 years alone with 1,292 people sleeping on the streets (2057 in Greater Van).  In the last 3 years, homelessness among seniors tripled.  It's a complicated issue - increasing cost of housing, inadequate amounts of welfare, addictions, mental illness (74% of those homeless had health issues).
