Ride for Refuge

Vancouver Ride is on Oct 15, 2011

It starts and ends @ the Tap!

Ride 10, 25, or 50 Kms!

The Ride for Refuge (the RIDE), is a family-friendly cycling fundraiser that supports those who are displaced, vulnerable and exploited.

It started in 2004 as a small local fundraiser with 25 cyclists raising money for refugees, the RIDE has grown to a multi-site event in cities across the US and Canada. Each year, thousands of riders fundraise in support of refugees, orphans, homeless people, victims of human trafficking and related approved programs. In 2010 the RIDE brought in $980,000!  Register for the event at http://www.rideforrefuge.org/Canada

Interested in volunteering?  There will be a number of different positions in which an individual can volunteer for.  For anyone interested in helping to support the ride on the actual route, please have them sign up under 'Ride Ranger'.  Anyone having a vehicle (car, SUV, mini van with an optional bike rack) is definitely welcome.  Even a scooter or motorcycle can be used to patrol the routes.  Contact Barry Kwok or sign up to volunteer at http://www.rideforrefuge.org/volunteer.php
