In Person Gatherings

In the past seven months, the pastoral staff along with the Board of Elders, have continued to pray and seek God for wisdom and discernment in our response to this pandemic.  Although the circumstances and regulations continue to evolve and change, two guiding principles in our discernment remain as follows:

1. The health of our congregation and love for our neighbours is of the highest priority.  Thus, we desire to follow diligently the public health guidelines of our Provincial government.  We encourage our entire Tapestry Church family to do likewise, and to follow the protocols and precautions set out by our Province.
   
   
2. Furthermore, the response we take should be in keeping with the mandate of the Church: Worship, Community, and Mission.  Does our response lead to an increased sense of worship, community and belonging, and does it lead to discipleship and evangelism?  In other words, does our response match our vision to make disciples of Jesus that make disciples of Jesus, and so forth?

In response to these 2 guiding principles, we will continue to provide a weekly on-line video worship service for people to watch at home, in watch parties, and in their zoom small groups.

But also, we will be adding more in-person worship gatherings across all four of our campuses. In the past few months, while still carefully following all necessary safety protocols, we have slowly begun to add in-person gatherings such as prayer meetings, worship gatherings, and in-person watch-parties.   In these in-person gatherings, those who have attended have found connection, community, joy, and an opportunity as a gathered people to worship.   After all, we recognize that the church is meant to gather in-person, and meeting together is critical for discipleship (Hebrews 10:24-25).  In light of this, we will thus be adding additional in-person worship gatherings.  Our hope is that these in-person worship gatherings would all eventually be available to be streamed, so that everyone in our community would be able to experience a live worship service from their homes.  And our prayer, is that these worship gatherings, whether you join in-person or watch on-line, would help us grow as disciples of Jesus.
