COVID-19 Update

March 13 2020
March 13 2020

To the Tapestry Church community,

In light of the Provincial Government’s recent directive concerning gatherings over 250 people, the Tapestry has suspended worship gatherings across all four campuses until further notice.  This includes the upcoming worship gatherings planned for March 14 and 15.

This is a highly unusual time for us.  Although this certainly does affect the manner in which we do church, it does not stop us from still being church.  Church is about more than a building or a service; Church is about a people. Especially now, even more so during these anxious and disruptive times, we will continue to be church.

Although there is obvious disruption, this is also a time of invitation.

We are invited to gather on-line for worship.  We will videotape worship gatherings that will be accessible through our website (www.thetapestry.ca) over this and following weekends.

We are invited to discover together new rhythms and creative ways to gather and grow as disciples of Jesus.

We are invited to grow more deeply in the spiritual habits of solitude, silence, and Sabbath.

We are invited to show hospitably (whether on-line or in person) in smaller group settings, to study Scripture, to drop off groceries, and to share meals around the table.

We are invited to provide support for those who are sick, care for those who are most vulnerable, and to be a church engaged with the needs of our community.

And of course, this will all be held together as we continue to pray.  We will continue to put our faith and trust in God.

The health and safety of all congregants and for the broader community are of our highest priority.  We encourage you to follow the guidelines as established by our health and government officials.  If you are feeling anxious, please reach out for prayer and if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Though things are moving quickly, especially over these past 24 hours, we are staying up-to-date on the situation and will modify our response plan as needed.  Please continue to check our website, social media accounts, and your inboxes for updates.

Love, joy, and peace,
