COVID-19 Update on Worship Gatherings

December 03 2021
December 03 2021

NEW COVID UPDATE

As you may already know, the Provincial Health Officer has introduced two new restrictions that impact religious gatherings.  The new orders include:

Masks are now required for religious gatherings.
All individuals over the age of 5 are now required to wear a mask for indoor worship gatherings. There is an exception for those eating and drinking as part of a ceremony, so we will continue to partake in communion as normal. Masks will be available in the lobby for those who require one.

50% seating capacity restriction OR 100% capacity if everyone is fully vaccinated.
• For Tapestry Marpole, Tap Mundy Park and Tap Nights, they are currently well below the 50% seating capacity and thus this new mandate does not impact the operation of their worship gatherings. We are thankful for large spaces to gather in!

• For Tap Richmond, their worship gatherings are already well above the 50% seating capacity. Given this reality, the Tapestry Richmond Campus will be asking attendees upon arrival on Sunday morning to show proof of vaccination. For those 12 years and older, please bring your BC vaccine and government identification.

This has certainly not been an easy decision for the staff and elders.  We recognize that the church is meant to gather in-person, and meeting together is critical for community and discipleship. We also want to continue to be a welcoming community that shows hospitality to everyone who shows up at our door. Nevertheless, in the case of Tap Richmond, we felt that this will allow as many people as possible to attend our worship services and the upcoming Christmas Eve service without placing a limit on the number of people who can attend.

We acknowledge that this pandemic continues to cause fatigue and strain. Our hope and prayer is that our worship gatherings, whether in-person or on-line, would continue to encourage us all, provide peace and hope to our lives, and help us all grow as disciples of Jesus.

Hello. Is this the most recent update as of May 2022? If not, can you post an update to this?
