John 21: 1 - 14 | The Invitation of Jesus
Throughout Jesus' ministry, he calls those he meets into participation in the transformation of their lives and their communities. He sees their deepest needs -- whether physical, social, emotional, or spiritual -- but does not stand apart from them, doing "for" them to meet these needs, but instead stands "with" them, inviting them into his work of renewal. John 21, and Jesus' simple invitation to his disciples to "come and have breakfast," gives us a glimpse of his larger invitation, and how it might change the story of our own lives and the lives of those around us, including refugees new-to-Canada.
